What you'll do

As our IT Systems & Operations Specialist, you'll split your time roughly 60% administering Atlassian and our core SaaS tools, 20% building automation and integrations, and 20% internal IT support.

In practice, that means you will:

• Administer and configure Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Slack and Iru across the company

• Spot and build automation that removes manual work — for tickets, provisioning, reporting, or anything else that eats people's time

• Provide first-line IT support: troubleshoot hardware, software and access issues, and manage the service desk within SLA

• Manage our device fleet through Iru (formerly Kandji) — enrolment, baseline configuration, patching — rather than building each machine by hand

• Evaluate and safely roll out AI tools, keeping security and compliance in mind

• Support on the IT side of SOC2/Vanta — providing evidence of our existing setup, keeping documentation current and controls in a compliant state

• Manage account provisioning and de-provisioning, and keep asset inventory accurate

• Track licence usage and costs

What success looks like - Your first year at Refined

• In 3 months: You're handling the IT service desk independently and know your way around our Atlassian setup

• In 6 months: You've shipped your first automation or integration with a measurable time saving, and device provisioning runs without you touching each machine

• In 12 months: You're the go-to person for tooling questions across the company, and you've built a track record of finding efficiency gains before anyone has to ask

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys both the people side of IT support and the puzzle-solving side of tooling and automation.

Must-haves

• Solid experience administering SaaS tools, ideally including the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)

• Hands-on IT support experience: hardware, software, access management

• Experience with an MDM platform — Iru/Kandji, Jamf, Intune or similar

• Comfortable connecting systems together. This doesn't require deep engineering — willingness to read docs and use vendor support counts for more than prior expertise in any one tool

• A genuine interest in automation and AI — you go looking for opportunities, not just fixing what's broken

• Good self-management: strong routines, follow-through, and comfort owning your own workload

• Comfortable communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues, in English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SOC2 or similar compliance frameworks

• Experience with automation tools or scripting

• Background in distributed/remote teams

You'll join the team, working closely with:

• Anders (your manager, Ops & Finance) — on budget, vendor decisions, and priorities

• Svante (Security) — on SOC2 compliance and security practices

• People & Admin Team — on SOC2 compliance and HR/IT processes

• Everyone at Refined — you'll be a first point of contact for IT and tooling questions across all eight countries we operate in

We have everything from people in the office several days a week to those who come in a few times a year. We meet everyone in person at least twice a year during company-wide gatherings.
