✅ Build and own Refined’s analytics data platform so teams can make confident, data-informed decisions.
✅ Directly shapes how Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Finance prioritise work, measure outcomes, and understand customer behaviour.
✅ Based in Malmö with a hybrid setup (typically 2–3 office days per week). You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the company.

You’re not interested in collaborating closely with business stakeholders
Why this role matters
This role exists to ensure Refined’s data is reliable, well-defined, and easy to use — so decisions across the company are based on shared truth rather than assumptions.
As Refined grows, data becomes more complex and more critical. Your work will turn raw data into trusted insights that help teams understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where to focus next.
This could be a great next step if you want to:
Own the analytics layer end-to-end, from ingestion and modelling to quality and adoption
Turn business questions into clear metrics and data models people actually trust
Apply solid engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, documentation) to data work
Shape how data is used across a growing, product-led SaaS company
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll provide tooling, frameworks, and high-quality data that enable data-informed decision making across Refined.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
Develop and maintain Refined’s data platform for analytics using software best practices (version control, code review, CI/CD pipelines).
Design and build core business data models (especially dimensional models) that make analytics consistent and scalable.
Translate business needs into technical solutions — bridging stakeholders and data engineering with shared language and clear definitions.
Ensure data quality and reliability through testing, monitoring, and documentation, so datasets are trustworthy and reusable.
Advocate for data-informed workflows by enabling self-serve access, improving data literacy, and raising awareness across the company.
What success looks like — your first year at Refined
In 3 months:
You understand the current data platform, key stakeholders, and highest-impact analytics use cases. You’re shipping improvements and building trust.
In 6 months:
You’ve delivered or significantly improved core business models, strengthened testing and documentation, and made data easier to use across teams.
In 12 months:
You’re a trusted owner of Refined’s analytics data platform — shaping standards, improving reliability, and helping teams default to data-informed decisions.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with strong engineering habits and clear communication.
You likely bring most of the following:
Must-haves
2–4+ years of experience working with analytics or data engineering
Strong SQL skills, writing high-quality, maintainable queries (ideally with dbt or similar tooling)
Experience with data modelling, especially dimensional models
Python or similar development experience, working with data pipelines and tooling
Ability to translate business context into clear technical solutions and definitions
Comfort working in a distributed, English-speaking team
Nice-to-haves
Familiarity with our stack: GCP, BigQuery, dlt, Looker
Infrastructure-as-code experience (we use Pulumi)
Experience raising data literacy, coaching others, or driving adoption of shared data practices
Above all, you’re curious, pragmatic, and low-ego — someone who cares about quality, asks good questions, and enjoys solving meaningful problems together.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll join our Data & Analytics workstream and collaborate closely with:
Product Managers and Engineers
Customer Success and Marketing
Finance and the CFO
Manager: Trust-based, outcome-focused, and supportive — with space to own your domain
We work flexibly, but we also make time to connect in person. We meet everyone face-to-face at least twice a year during company-wide gatherings.
