What you’ll do as our Senior Fullstack Engineer

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer at Refined, you’ll be part of a collaborative, senior engineering community working across a variety of meaningful challenges. Right now hot topics range from helping companies transition to modern cloud environments, to designing new advanced features and improving how thousands of users experience our product every day.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

• Design and build product features that make Refined more powerful, scalable, and enjoyable to use, whether that means enabling smooth cloud adoption, improving site configuration, or developing advanced capabilities for enterprise customers.

• Balance backend-heavy development (Node.js) and meaningful frontend work (Vue.js) to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Collaborate with other senior engineers, product managers and designers to find the best technical tradeoffs. We know there’s rarely one “perfect” solution.

• Contribute to architectural discussions and help define our future ways of working as we evolve Refined’s cloud and product architecture.

• Bring your perspective and technical judgment to the table  and your insight will shape decisions that impact thousands of users.

You’ll work in an environment where progress happens through reasoning, experimentation, and iteration, and complex problems are solved piece by piece, and always with care.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a seasoned engineer who enjoys tackling complexity with calm and creativity.

You likely bring most of the following:

• Extensive experience in fullstack, ideally in SaaS or product companies.

• Strong backend skills: e.g., Node.js or similar, and confidence working with complex data structures and APIs.

• Experience in frontend technologies (React, Vue, or similar).

• Understanding of cloud environments

• Some background with the Atlassian ecosystem will be a big plus

• Ability to reason clearly about trade-offs, not just what’s possible, but what’s worth doing.

• Excellent communication skills in English and comfort working in a distributed, senior team.

What success looks like

In 3 months: You’re fully onboarded, understand our architecture, and contribute independently to ongoing projects.

In 6 months: You’ve taken ownership of key features and improved parts of our product..

In 12 months: You’re a trusted peer and problem-solver who others turn to for insights on performance, structure, and scalable design.

You’ll join our engineering community, a group of experienced, collaborative developers working across southern Sweden, Helsinki, and Portugal.
